Classroom News From Miss Staci

This week we worked with the letter Cc and the number one.  We turned our Cc into a cat and a cloud.  When we worked with number one we counted how many, learned how to write and spell the number.  We had fun sponge painting our fall leaves.  On cookie day we a sweet time making many different types cookies and playing cookie games.  We even got to taste cookies.

This Week

    The boys and girls are enjoying playing in both classrooms after Circle Time.  By using both classrooms they can have play dough in one room and art material in the other.  This week I had the computer on in my class and the older kids were helping the younger ones with our "Same or Different" game.
     You might be hearing singing.  We started our Halloween songs this week except for "Spooky Walk".  This is the one song we do all year.  Sometimes singing this one once is not enough.
     That was a cat that came home on Wednesday.  We read the nursery rhyme "Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, Where Have You Been".  Afterwards I gave them the pieces for the cat and gave step by step directions.  They did pretty well for the first time. Working on our cutting skills also.

Classroom News From Miss Staci

This week we worked with the letter Bb. Out of our letter B we made a butterfly, and out the the letter b we made a bear. We are also making fall leaves by sponge painting them. We had loads of fun with the easel and the color red. We had so much fun doing thigs backwards. We started the day going outside first and walking backwards to get there. While outside we had our backwards relay races. When we came inside I read story backwards, we raced trucks backwards, and we painted backwards. To finish off the day we took the pic of the week backwards.

Week of September 18th/Miss Sue

     Our letter this week was B! We made bears, our pocket bear, and puppet bear.  Clifford this week was about apples and how trees change each season.  We painted trees using our hands for the trunk.  We also mad a tree out of corn flakes and then painted it fall colors.  On "Backwards Day" we went outside first.  The boys and girls used there backward walking skills.  When we read our story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See", we held up the colors of each thing that we saw.

Classroon News from Miss Staci

This week we worked with letter Aa and number 0.  We painted our hands, then turned them into alligators, we also completed our letter page.  The children answered the question What is family?  On favorite day we had lots of fun taste testing what drinks and food we thought was our favorite.  We also picked out our favorite animals and talked about our favorite things.  The children made their favorite icecream cups.

Here is the board for this month!

 



We had an awesome first week.  We marble painted popcorn, for our board(pic to come later).  Made picture frames, family pictures, and finger painted.  On our special day we had a blast with bubbles.  We sorted bubbles, painted with bubble wrap, and painted our family picture background with bubbles.  The books I read this week were "The kissing hand",  "What teachers can't do", and "I heard said the bird."  Hope the weeks to come are as good as the first.

First Week

     We had a good first week.  The 3's have learned about the number 0, easel painted, read our "Clifford" magazine, and had our special "Bubble Day".  We painted with bubbles, made bubble wrap prints, and sized them up!  
  
     I will be updating weekly my class and Miss Staci will do hers.  As time goes on we will be adding pictures too!  Also, each week we will be having a Special Thursday.  They will have themes and our activities will gear around them.   Next Thursday will be "Favorite Day".  If they need to bring anything, we"ll let you know.
